'Dutch Barge' may be a convenient way of describing the Bon Viveur 1500, but, to be strictly accurate, it is neither Dutch nor a barge. It certainly has no pretensions to be, in any sense, a 'replica' of a classic Dutch barge like, say, a Luxemotor.

I have conceived it more as an inland waterways/coastal cruiser for the 21st century with something of the flavour of a traditional Dutch barge. By taking some of the more pleasing lines of a Dutch barge and then adapting them to create the maximum amount of useful space out of a 15m x 4m footprint, I have aimed for a design that is both stylish and practical.
